So I just got back from a so called 'night out' with the guys and I couldn't help but feel annoyed all night, not because the company wasn't great (err yes I have to say that cause they might be reading this lol, nah kidding, it really was great) but because there is absolutely nowhere to go in this country. Cinema is fully booked because we have ONE so called proper cinema in the whole of Muscat with 3 screens playing over 6 movies with the crappiest timings you could possibly imagine, restaurants have become a routine stop that we've grown bored of (we picked Nandos today who have increased their prices btw) and then we cruised around the usual locations of Shatti and Qurum and that was our night. We don't smoke sheesha, we don't club, we don't want to park the car and display it for the world to see and we certainly don't want to stand around at some pathetic location just to watch people come and go which lets face it is what most of the single Omani youth opt for as a hangout concept.
There is just absolutely nothing to do, all I can say is thank god for the internet, thank god for torrents and thank god that I can escape my reality through my art.

Why don't you guys try camping trips?
There are many places to explore in Oman. Even if you go on a camping trip every single weekend, you will hardly run out of places.
Go out, take your 4WD's and explore the Sultanate!
Isn't it great to just stay home and be able to do everything you want in it :P
On a serious note, I must say you have a valid point there, however what do you have on mind? What is missing?
@Amjad, yeah we already came to that conclusion and we're going to start some camping trips next month, we decided to go to a farm (with a pool) next weekend as a change.

@Atgm: what's missing? more places to hang out, better cinemas, better restaurants, maybe even a proper ice skating rink, or a decent theme park with rides for adults? a water park? there's so much that we could have but don't.
Since I've moved to Miami & I'm always busy doing something! I don't think it'll be easy for me to adjust to the limited activities in Oman when I'm back in December. It can be really frustrating.
I guess you should just find something that interests you & your friends & just chill. Renting good movies & ordering tasty food with a bunch of friends never failed to give me a good time back home.
