I've had an interesting incident a couple of weeks ago on the EnglishSabla (the forum I manage) where a member started attacking me for doing my job which unfortunately ended up in a ban because that member didn't want to let things go. So after the ban I felt that I wanted to illustrate a little cartoon about the incident, or mainly my feelings towards this member and this was the result:
So I posted it in the forum like i've done several times before when I had conflicts with other members, but this time I was suddenly attacked and accused of using my art or my powers in the forum (if that even makes sense) in a wrong or inappropriate way and that I should be charged for it. Weird eh?
What happened to people's sense of humor? what happened to the freedom of expressing oneself? Do these people not read the papers and see the political cartoons, this is basically the very same thing except it's probably about someone they know which is why they decided to make all this fuss.
The problem is that this member whom I decided to illustrate (without knowing what she really looks like) is still bitter, weeks after the incident and keeps on talking about me in negative ways to complete strangers which ends up in them judging me in advance. The latest comment this member made was done just recently in a friends blog where she said:
"Art is indeed a unique type of beauty, but lots out there use their talents in attempt to harm others. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about"
All I have to say to this member is that she should learn to let things go before they take a toll on her life. It's JUST a cartoon, just a way to let out some steam, to express myself in a way that I couldn't have done in any other way, and hopefully she'll see the humor in it one day. :)

But those who publish the political cartoons are not in positions of authority and responsibility, and are merely the public/media. Whereas, you are. Ia a member of the forum, who is not part of the team, drew that cartoon people would not have said much. But since, you are the admin of the forum you are in a position of authority and are expected to have an increased sensitivity towards the forum's members.

I remember when Blue_Chi posted a pic of you looking somewhat like Ali-G, and posted names of some tracks that you would have released/or a listening to. I can't remember the details. You were not too happy abt that and were very insulted. Apply that over here - can you really blame her? It is not much fun to be depicted in any way that is insulting.
If there is such a thing as concurred full freedom of expression, then I don't see why did you get upset over Blue-Chi's way of expressing his humorous side, and yet don't understand why she would get so offended.
Natalie: What makes you think that it's the picture that I was against and not the words that accompanied it? ;)
Hmm, and you still insist on posting it everywhere ... I wonder how on earth do you expect me to let it go if your not. Oh well, it may appear as humour in your eyes, but never in mine =]
Well sariya, you shouldn't take it so personally, I draw cartoons on almost any unpleasant situation i get myself in so it's not really about you. I already drew a new one about a new person so there you go.
I find your theory extremly amusing, you tell me not to take it personally and yet it is me whom you've attempted to dram. Anyways at the end of the day you know your a good artist but it wouldn't be wise to use it in such way, it's just wrong and unpleasent. Oh well, it's your call after all ... Continue drawing such sketchs if you will.

See yeah around.
