New Albums August 2006

I got to listen to so many albums this month and I've just been delaying writing a review on them so I just thought I'd talk about some of the biggest releases.

Beyonce - B.Day

I am dissapointed, very dissapointed with this release actually. I'm not the biggest fan but she usually comes up with some great and addictive songs (there are a couple of them on this album) but most of this album sounds like a huge mess to me production wise and even her singing is annoyingly agressive on many of the tracks. She said that she finished this album (well if you can call 10 tracks an album) in two weeks and it sure does sound like she really did. I only really liked 2 songs on this record which is the new single 'Ring the alarm' and 'Irreplaceable' which in my opinion is one of her best songs to date.

Anyways for now i'm not really loving this release.

Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/LoveSound

Timbaland seems to be on fire this year. He's producing alot of hot songs for many artists (Justin, Nelly furtado, JoJo) and he's doing a very good job at it. He produced most of this album and even though it sounds alot like Nelly Furtado's latest release it's still quite good and stands out on it's own. Justin as always does what he knows best which is singing in his trademark opera style as well as making his usual human beatbox sounds which can be noticed on songs like (my love and love stoned). This is a more hip/hop sound for justin which will probably do well for him considering that the American market no longer has a place for anything else (which really sux btw).

Jessica Simpson - A Public Affair

This is Jessica's 4th studio album and I'm not really sure if this is going to be a successful release for her. It's very popish and I doubt the American market is going to swallow this tough pill. I personally enjoyed listening to it because so many of the tracks sound like familiar hits from the 80's which is something I really liked. Like for example the first single 'A public affair' sounded alot like Madonna's Holiday , 'Spind me around like a record' sounds alot like Tiffany's 'You think you're alone now' and 'B.O.Y' sounds alot like many of Paula Abdul's late 80's hits. Her voice isn't in it's best form but it's suitable for the electronic/pop production on this record. I hope it does well for her cause I've always enjoyed her music and i'm hoping that one of the singles released from this album breaks the billboard top 10 because so far she only has one top ten single which is 'I wanna love you forever' from 1999 , the rest of her singles always seem to stall in the top 20 for some reason.

7.5/10

Beyonce's album was a disappointment, Irreplaceable is the only track that I really like on the album.

Didn't like any of the albums. Not my type though.

How about Christina Aguilera? She had a number of great hits in her recent album.

- Here To Stay
- Ain't No Other Man
- Oh Mother
- Hurt

Thankfully, I stopped giving attention to dome female singers just because theyre hot long ago.

^ lol , I don't care how hot a singer looks..I care about the voice and the production of the music..as long as both are good then i'm all for it..whether it's rock , pop , rnb , electronica or even metal and hip/hop.
