I admit that it kinda made me laugh and that there is 'some' truth to it. Coldplay's new single DOES sound alot like their previous hit 'Clocks' but that doesnt mean that its not as good or even better , and that they're following the same formula just so that they make it big in the States. They have already proven themselves there with their last album selling over 4 million copies in the U.S alone. Just cause they liked a certain formula which they came up with and has done well for them, does not mean they are selling themselves for mainstream success.
And anyways , who are the brits to judge what is good and what isnt. Just look at last week's chart topper. An annoying ring tone based single! I have lost alot of respect to the U.K charts recently , especially after seing such rediculously cheesy songs taking over. I Don't completely like the U.S charts either with all the current Hip/hop domination of the chart , but things are getting alot better now over there with Acts such as Mariah , Gwen , kelly clarckson , Rob Thomas , Green day and even coldplay doing really well on the singles chart.
------------
On another note , Coldplay's New album is out next week ( June 6th ) , and It's excellent. I've been listening to it non stop ever since I downloaded the whole thing ( shame on me! )

Chris Martin admits that the reason they chose Speed of Sound to be the first single is because it sounds like it came from the last album.
The album's really good. Other than the single I really like Talk, What If? and Fix You so far.
But the past two months there's been an abnormally high number of good albums out. I've bought or downloaded more music in the past 45 days than I have in the past year: New Order, Nine Inch Nails, Common, Dave Matthews Band, Gorillaz, Oasis, System of a Down, Audioslave, The White Stripes, and now Coldplay.
well w , I usually use :
www.shareaza.com ( download the program from here )
and then go to :
www.torrentspy.com
to search for the music and even t.v episodes i want to download ,
or www.torrentazos.com , for the latest music albums.
I also go to : www.mp3xplosion.com
for latest music album , but i dont recoment you going there if you dont have good protection on your computer , otherwise things might get messed up.
Ok, I think i've listened to X&Y enough times to give my opinion. It's a great album, but it's not as good as Rush of Blood to the Head. I don't think this one's got the goods to take them to the next plateau like they were hoping. They needed to come out with their Joshua Tree or OK Computer. This isn't it. It's got a lot of fine songs, but the best songs are not great songs like Yellow, Clocks, The Scientist, Spies, Politik, etc.
Let's see how it goes for them from here.
Actually , I like this one more than 'rush of blood', But one thing i don't like about coldplay is that their music tends to sound so similar. I wont be surprised if the non-fans dont know which song belongs in which album.
This is working for them now , but if they keep it up it will soon just be a huge bore.

joshua tree is an extraordinary album..cold play still didnt reach that level.
