I've been getting many questions about the world cup lately whether it's in Uni or from taxi cabs. On Thursday when I went out for some movie shopping (pirated of course :p) two taxi cab drivers asked me about the match and some previous matches , what I thought of them and that sort of stuff and I just told them.. umm.. I'm not really into soccer and so I'm not really following the world cup. They just looked at me with this weird blank face as if something was wrong with me and of course I smiled back at them like the idiot that I can be and put in my ipod ear plugs to listen to my music to sort of brush them off and get them to stop talking and looking at me in a sort of disgusted way.
I mean..what the heck..yes I am a guy, but I just don't like soccer so is it really a big deal? Do I really have to be like the rest in order to be precived as normal? I don't think anyone in my house is really into soccer including my dad and elder brother..oh but wait..my younger bro sort of watches it..so err...anyways..i'm not alone. lol
I'm just a more artsy sort of person..never really been much into sports to be honest. Oh well..I'm special in my own weird ways I guess. :P

Reading about giving you the look reminded me of the movie "Everything Is Illuminated", they asked him to eat meat, & he replied saying he doesnt eat any kind of meats, so they said, 'Whats wrong with you?!" :p
Dont worry, though I am a big sport follower. But, not going to question you, I understand this weirdness, or maybe because I came to know many of these guys who dont follow sports.
So did you watch yesterday's match? Who scored? Who got a yellow card? I think the referee was unfair! :p Hehe.. Yeah well, I'm not tuning to games either here so I wouldnt know either! rofl.
Oh come on, poor taxi drivers, Wordl Cup gives them something to talk about! It's either that or it's telling you how petrol prices are up, and how this isn't originally his cab and he's doing his cousin a favor by driving it, heactually has a degree in engineering but can't find a job!!Hehe I used to get that all the time!

about not following the world cup i can see where you're coming from, thats exactly the case with me and the cab drivers always ask me as well but i keep asking what did they just say as if i wasnt focusing with them till they get bored and stop talking all together lol.

I seriously don't see why some people are obssessed with football. Each match starts out with me imagining how awesome it would be to punch the players in the face. Nothing too showy, just a quick crack to the jaw to make sensible men out of them. As if the "Gulf Cup" wasn't annoying enough, "World Cup" comes along. Wow, thank you sport channels for giving me a high blood pressure.
The problem is, this obssession is not only spreading among guyz, but also girls, which is very frustrating to be honest.
Guyz tend to adore football players and try to act like them. Simply put: they can't, but that doesn't stop them from trying.
Don't worry nabs, I find you "more" normal than those who scream for every goal lost. :p

Some guys are shallow minded and expect all other guys to share their interests... cuz they have a certain theory all guys are the same. Yet when they see something new and totally unexpected... you suddenly seem like an alien to them. Simple things satisfy simple minds.
You wouldn't see an educated person get shocked... but the poor taxi drivers are really cracking.
