Prince is back with some hot sh*t this time around. The album debuted at #1 on last weeks billboard charts and features some of his best work since the 80's. I am not a major prince fan but this album is so addictive with its funky heavy beats and sonic sounds. The second single (well its actually being treated as the first) 'Black sweat' reminds me of the simplicity but brilliance of Madonna's 'Music' single , heavy funky beats with futuristic sonic background music. Very fine production on this record If I may say so.
Other Highlights include "Beautiful , loved and blessed" , "Fury" and "Lolita".

A very good album indeed. I need a couple more listens before I can rate it though I don't think I'd rate it higher than an 8/10 because the ballads are a bit weak and sound like a million other earlier Prince ballads. But Black Sweat is probably one of his best songs ever. It's Prince from the Kiss days all over again. I wouldn't say it's his best since the 80's because he had some really good albums in the 90's like Graffiti Bridge, Diamonds and Pearls, the symbol album and the The Gold Experience, which each had a bunch of classic singles. But yeah, the past 10 years were really disappointing years for Prince fans except for one thing: he toured more than he did in the 80's and 90's. For people, especially in the US, it was great to be able to see him live so many times and always at affordable ticket prices unlike other superstars.
NaBHaN, I'm really not into Prince at all, his music is a little ... too corny. I came over streams for this album a while later and just let it go. I'll go back and listen to this album. If I don't like it, it's your responsbility NaBHaN, wherever you are I will haunt you down and kick you in the knee
