My brother was uploading some music into his ipod and of course before uploading them he gave it a listen to confirm that he actually wanted that song and amazingly almost every song he uploaded was rap and hip/hop oriented which basically just talks about sex and pervertion. I just got angry and asked him why in gods name is he doing that to himself? why would he want to listen to immoral crap and all he could answer is that it's (7amas , and nash3a) which i think is translated to stimulating and exciting? so yeah.. perverted music has become exicting and hip nowadays.
The amazing thing is that my brother actually doesn't really concentrate on the lyrics of the songs and mainly focuses on the beat. I think it's very clever of rappers to disguise their lyrics with an infectious beat that attracts the younger generation ( and probably some adults as well ) but along with these infectious beats wrong messages get sent to them which in a way or another effects the society negatively ( think pre marital sex and drug use ).
The saddest thing about this is that 'beautiful' and 'sweet' music doesn't work anymore. The market doesnt really accept it and it barely gets any airplay in the states , or sales worldwide. Take a look at the Billboard charts and you'll know what I mean:

#1.Chris Brown - Run it ( Lyrics : make it drop honey , make it pop honey!)
#2.Kanye west - Gold digger ( Lyrics : if you're f*cking with this girl then you better be paid!)

#4.D4l - Laffy taffy ( Lyrics :shake that laffy taffy (basically shake that ass!!) )
#5.Young jeezy - Soul survivor ( didnt listen to this one yet!)
But anyways you got my point.
I don't blame the people who find those songs catchy , even I often finding myself being attracted to certain perverted songs cause of the beat but when I focus on the lyrics all i find is pervertion. Just a while ago I stumbled accross a missy song titled 'Meltdown' and I really loved the beats and the whole rapping style but then I started hearing stuff like , wait let me just paste some of them ehem , interesting lyrics :
"I bet it taste like candy, meant to melt in my mouth
I know you got plenty, baby you the shit
Now what you workin wit candy meant to melt in my mouth
I know you got plenty, I like the way, I like the way
I like the way, I like the way"
It's just sad that a person who likes sweet songs will probably be laughed at and labled as 'uncool' and perhaps even a sissy ( in case it was a guy). I guess I miss the days when songs like 'crazy for you' , 'glory of love' , 'one sweet day' , 'believe' , 'save the best for last' and 'hold on to the nights' topped the charts and were acclaimed by the public.

I listen to Power Metal, Epic Metal, Gothic metal genres of Heavy Metal Main Genre music, if you are familiar with these genres. I like to read their lyrics more than listening to their songs sometime! Some of them even sing about Islam.
Such as Epica, Kamelot.
Meanwhile, Rap singers tend to sing about a bag full of human waste = A$$.
2pac the black panther influenced guy has some good lyrics but oh well,,he sang about "The Bag full of Human waste" more than anything else. He had more sex with many girls than watching news on TV.
50Cents OH YEAH Salah Aldin of the black American community!..a man who survived 9 rockets in his chest, sorry I mean 9 bullets. hmm i wonder 9 10 12 13 20 bullets or no bullets.they are not sure of the number of the bullets he got but anyway he is a hero now living in a big mansion that used to be owned by Mike Tyson!

The only black successful singers I know are Bob Marly? or Ray? or Jimi Hindrix!..that's not rap as far as I remember but they r good.
Oh Well, they are not the best any more. we have many Einstein of raps nowadays...latest one is Chris Brown a 16years old singer who doesn't even know how to wear a condom yet and sings about women and bags full of human wastes..a teenager who might have a house bigger than any african president's on the face of Africa, Alaska and Mars.

Music is for entertainment ... listen to whatever you like. If you're talking about 50 cent, the Game, Eminem, Dr.DRE talks smack and being immoral, I ask how moral is it for Ginger, Britney Spears, Madonna and all them blonde, skinny wonders to raunch around their videos barely wearing anything? That besides portraying to the teenage world that tanned-white-skin, blonde haired, bad O' bones is hip ... not to forget tying yourself down with something spiritual to make it seem like a new fashion fad. Madonna and the Kabalah? ROFL!
They do it for money, to attract attention and get rich eventually ... hardly anyone does it for the love of music alone. In that perspective, I rather respect 50 cent for openly declaring that he's in it for the $$ rather than watch a 40-50 yr old, underwear cladden ex-star try to act hip.
Also, you don't understand this genre of music because you haven't connected with them at all. You haven't seen a ghetto, gangter ever in your life ... you haven't been in any modern clubs. How and why should I even listen to you people rant about today's music when you're stuck up on 80's wonder music tones?

I never defended madonna , nor Britney or Xtina sree. i never liked Madonna's song 'erotica' , or Xtina's 'Dirrty'. I know whats right and what is wrong..it's not about 'connecting' with the artist or his 'art' or even about meeting 'Ghetto thugs'. It's about realizing what is acceptable and what's not...and knowing the limits. ;)

LOOL @ the lyrics nabs... that was really the best part!!... true the beats may sound great in some modern songs... but if u hear those lyrics they're ridiculous... but I would even hate to hear a song with all the meanings in the world and has stupid beats... so i guess a combination of both is the best...
