To my ultimate shame and disgrace , my boredom today lead me to read in the Arabic sabla www.omania.net only to whitness more of how sad our community really is and how backwards they really are. I am sure if they read me they'd think that I am just another wannabe who is abandoning his traditions or Islamic values and all that crap I normally get from the conservatives , but how can I not look down on them when I read posts from arabs who request or actually demand that women should not work at all , or how they're all going to hell for not wearing the 3abaya and how proud the members are of the other members who make fun of Americans and so on.
I don't understand why people can't just live their lives without judging other people's life style and choices in life without really knowing how those people have been raised and why they've been raised that way. I guess they don't know any better than what they've been taught to think just like I don't know how to accept the way they judge others..which probably means that I am not open minded enough cause being open minded usually means accepting people for who they are without really judging or at least thats what I think it means.
Anyways , reading all that makes me feel embarrassed sometimes that I belong to the Arab and Islamic race. I am all for morals , and good values , but I don't like extremes. Being conservative is great but not to the extent that you end up living in a box and forcing everyone around you to live in that box with you.
Finally , I would like to point out that the design and colors of that forum is beyond shitty..so whoMever is in charge of it.. please change it A.S.A.P. (as if they're even going to read this! lol)

well remember most of them members posting there are from the interior or elsewhere... I would presume they just learnt to live within their own culture and know nothing else... may take time for that to change...ppl are supposed to move forwards not backwards... one would find it hard to accept something that's obviously not right...
So I do find it sad...
I used to be a member in that forum, I used to type in english they didn't like me typing in English so they warnmed that they will block me..I was like MAN! There's nothing says that I can't type in english..but they insisted that it's not allowed!..the Sabla rules say nothing about that..Anyway I posted some good replies but I got no reply back, in the end I realized I was facing an organization of ignorization...after that I just left them and joined a saudi forum:|
1-Their Threads are repeated daily
2-Their debates sound like chicken 3fights.OFFTOPIC ALL.
4-Their forum Design looks like a tent made of old cloth.
5-Their Administrators must be High-school dropouts.
6-Their News are based on Sudan Channel Maybe?!
7-Their Behaviors are hard to understand...I think Frued should have studied them before.
8-Their Avatars are the worst,

10-Their Overall sub-forums look like a nursing home woman that wants to survive another day with liqiud food.

I met one of the member He didn't know I was a member,
he said: "[x] you know there's an omani site which brings you the 100% truth of this country, it's the best site ever"
I said:"Well What is it?"
he said: "I can't recall the site now but it's something like Omani Sabla or Omania com ? or net"
To be Honest, I wanted to shoot him.
I pretended I was interested and said "Oh Really? Interesting I will check it today"
I am serious that guy had no idea what life was.

I dont think you should be ashamed being Arab, or being Muslim. Myself I believe Arabic is just a language, no matter what they say about being a unit, & all the bullsh!t!
