Music Talk - Part 1

I've downloaded loads of albums recently ( yes I am a bad boy and I don't really care about it , no one told jordan to over price their Original CDs ).. so yeah.. Just wanted to talk about some of them :

Sugababes - Taller in more ways

Taller in more ways

The title of the album is taken from the lyrics of 'Ugly' which is the next single to be released from this album. The album is currently on top of the U.K charts , as well as it's first single , the Dallas Austin ( TLC , Madonna ) produced track 'Push the button' which remains @ #1 for a 3rd week making it the sugababes most successful single chartwise.

I won't say that this is their best release to date , but it does have some amazing songs like 'Ugly' , 'Ace Reject' and 'Bruised' , but the rest of the album seems to get a little boring after a few listens , but that still doesnt make it horrible. For a girl band that struggled to get where they are now , I think that releasing a 4th album is a huge accomplishment. I am sure they are going to see more success comming their way if they continue delivering the goods ( I'm talking about music here of course ).

Toni Braxton - Libra

Libra

What happened to her? She used to be so good , especially with her first two releases ( Both certified 8 times platinum ) , but her last two releases arent memorable at all , and don't really feature any ground breaking songs. The first single 'Please' was a commercial flop , and well I can't really see which song on this album would be able to help it's sales cause most of the songs are just way too draggy or weirdly and annoyingly produced. Her voice is still great but I just think she's been facing alot of bad luck in choosing the right songs to showcase it.

The song 'Tippin' Is not too bad , but reminds me way too much of Mariah's 'we belong together' which I am seriously sick of by now. Other songs that can be tolerated on this are 'Midnite' and hmm.. okay..can't really find anything else. sorry!

I think she should just start thinking about the next album from now , cause this one isnt going anywhere.

Texas - Red Book

red book

Their last album was seriously a huge dissapointment and so I was really hesitant to actually download this , but being a fan I thought that I should give them another chance , and I'm really glad I did , cause I was seriously impressed with the album.

Packed with electro pop songs that are bound to get you grooving in no time , this is probably one of their best releases in a while , but I don't think it can top the amazing 'white on blond' album which featured the amazing singles 'Insane' and 'say what you want'.

My fave songs on this would have to be the first single 'Getaway' , The funky 'Can't resist' , 'what about us' and the second single 'Get down tonight' which sounds very pop/funk.

Texas are back on top of their game and they sound great ( well at least in my opinion , I rarely find anyone who actually agrees with my taste lol )

The Cardigans - Super Extra Gravity

Extra Gravity

I like The Cardigans . The lead singer ( forgot her name ) has a really nice voice and when they have a good song , it is really good , and you usually end up listening to it for a long time without getting bored. To those who arent familiar with them , you'll probably remember them from the 'Romio & juliet' soundrack which featured their hit single 'Love fool'. The had decent success in the late 90's with hits like 'Erase and rewind' as well as 'My favorite mistake'.

I really love the first single taken off this new album of theirs which is titled 'I Need some fine wine , and you need to be nicer'. It's very catchy , very well sung and the chorus which features the main line is really well done. I am not sure how well it's doing on the charts but knowing what the general taste is like these days , I very much doubt that they'll chart well.

Other excellent songs on the album are : 'Don't blame your daughter' , 'Good morning Joan' and 'little black cloud'.

This is the sort of album that you either really like , or really hate , and well , I guess I chose to love it ( hmm..well sorta ).

Hey there catch. I usually download using torrents and torrent clients such as bitcomet ( www.bitcomet.com ) , its the safest and easiest way to get full albums.

If you have a Gmail account , I can send you the whole thing there.

I really like your Cd reviews. I'm going to give The Cardigans a try and tell you what I think. Thanks! And by the way, how come you never mention a variety of rock bands (like The Wallflowers) in your reviews?

Amo : classic? hmm.. well madonna's new album is comming out soon. I think that could be considered classic? lool . dunno bout the rest of the classic acts , they barely put out anything good anymore if you ask me.

Regarding torrents read this :

"Torrent is a protocol designed for transferring files. It is peer-to-peer in nature, as users connect to each other directly to send and receive portions of the file. However, there is a central server (called a tracker) which coordinates the action of all such peers. The tracker only manages connections, it does not have any knowledge of the contents of the files being distributed, and therefore a large number of users can be supported with relatively limited tracker bandwidth. The key philosophy of BitTorrent is that users should upload (transmit outbound) at the same time they are downloading (receiving inbound.) In this manner, network bandwidth is utilized as efficiently as possible. BitTorrent is designed to work better as the number of people interested in a certain file increases, in contrast to other file transfer protocols."

Catch : sure thing , inshallah I will update your button soon. Glad u liked the texas album.
