I'm so sick of this. Mariah has been #1 with the song 'we belong together' for 12 weeks now! thats about 3 months! The whole summer wasted on one mushy love song. Okay fine.. I admit that I like the song but I certainly don't believe it deserves 12 weeks on top of the damn american charts. It's enough that she has 16 #1's already ( the most for any female artist).
And to make it worse , her HORRIBLE new single 'shake it off' which is just another showcase of how much of a bimbo[slash] Airhead she is , is climbing up the charts so fast that it looks like it's going to be the next #1 single. I wish I didn't care so much about the charts but given that I have a sick obession with it , I can't help but feel annoyed that bimbo carey is getting all this success and especially for singles and and album that do not deserve it. I am still in shock actually that her latest album 'The emancipation of mimi' is doing so well... there was only one or two decent songs in it and the rest were just so so bad.
But oh well , I guess she 'needs' all this succes in order for her not to suffer another 'breakdown' like the one she had when her movie/album 'glitter' flopped big time.

if i didnt read your last comment which says maybe she needs this number 1 thinggie to cover up all that stress she had after glitter and all the breakdowns she was in, i would've commented on the same thing. Maskeena let her insecurities fill in with what is needed at the moment. 3an ti7sud'ha and the gossipers get another story to bash her for!

personally... true, her voice is nice and she might have talent, but I don't exactly like her songs... somehow to me they're a bit too ahh... emotional? girlish?... well.. at least I know it ain't my type
lol..okay fine.. she is 'talented' and she does have a great voice..but that doesnt necessarily mean her songs are brilliant and deserve 12 weeks at number one. I always thought the hype over her was way too much and she got way too much success for songs that are really very silly... eg : heartbreaker , Honey , dreamlover and now shake it off.

I live in Oman and I'd rather be caught dead than listen to Oman FM. In the car I listen to my iPod so unless someone goes and puts it there for me I wouldn't know it. I don't put on my music channels on tv anymore because I hate most of what they play. And since I'm not a fan of hers I wouldn't go out and buy her album even if I hear a song from it that I like.
