I was surfing the net and came accross this site : www.strippedmusic.com and found out that that Rob Thomas did a cover of madonna's classic hit 'Borderline'. It's a lovely piano lead song with a nice vocal showcase from the matchbox 20 lead singer. It does sound a lil weird to hear a guy singing it but he did change a few words here and there to make it fit a guys point of view of love.
Borderline became madonna's first top ten hit single back in 1984 when it managed to peak at #10 on the billboards charts and is considered , by many , one of her best singles to date. The song can be found on her immaculate collection CD and on her first self titled album.
You can Stream the cover version from the site I provided above.
For more Rob Thomas music check out his platinum album "something to be" featuring the hit single "Lonely no more".

Hello..
Nice Artwork, keep 'em coming :)
Let me try checking that song.
I got the original CD of Rob Thomas's "Something To Be". I really enjoy it, where all the track are great!
Artfinale : thanks alot and its good to see you here. :)
----
Nightface : yeah I really enjoyed his album as well. My fave tracks being 'Ever the same' and 'when the heartache ends'.
strange but true Borderline is the only song i like of her, and still i don't see the reason why he did such a cover
all the other songs are much better
lol amo.. cummon..just admit it. you looove madonna's songs. :p
rollingstones are releaseing their new album around the same time madonna releases hers.. of course she'll kick their butt and top the charts worldwide.
did you notice she didn't dance AT ALL @live8???
And she's only 10 years older than me!!!
Mick is 60 i think and still running on stage with his cute ...
Just checked the video. Its cool to see Rob calm, not like in his videos where he is always doing some action.
Maan, he sucks playing!! But, that tone of his voice is there, & it makes him that special!
amo : what do u mean she didn't dance? she was dancing all over the stage. her performance there was one of the best..if not THE best. ;)
Borderline was the first Madonna song I liked back in 83 or 84 and it is still my favorite song of hers till now. She had a sincerity in her voice singing that song that she's never had again. I like Madonna but come on she's never been an emotive singer. Her songs usually measure 0 on the emotion depth level.
I am a much bigger Stones fan than Madonna fan so I am looking forward to their new album next month much more than I am looking forward to Madonna's new album. I still listen to their Bridges to Babylon album from 7 years ago while I never take out old Madonna CDs for a listen. If Madonna still kicks ass in 2026 like the Stones are in 2005 then you can compare the two. She's just entered her 23rd year in the music industry while they have completed 42 or 43. And they still sell out millions of tickets every time they go on the road. They have real tours which go to 60 or 70 cities unlike Madonna's tours which have like 30 shows in 15 or 20 cities. Now that's longetivity. Stones rock.
Oh and on the real topic here. Rob Thomas' cover SUCKS ASS.
lol...alright I can agree that Rob's cover version isnt all that , but I don't agree that madonna songs after borderline have 0 emotion depth. songs like 'live to tell' , 'one more chance' , 'this used to be my playground' and 'take a bow' are all emotional and moving.
Anyways.. i never really compared madonna to the stones , I know they've been around longer , but i still think she's going to beat them chart wise this year.
I liked "Lonely no more", n I think I might check out his album.
hey devilish. If you liked that song then you'll be pleased with the rest of it. I can just give you the whole thing when I'm in oman since you already get my music from my brother anyways. :p
