My playlist this week..

Everyone already knows how obsessed I am with music so I thought i should start talking about my selection with every update ( view the playlist on the left side ).

--------

Anna Nalick :

I came accross this singer while browsing the lastest downloads ( yes yes yes.. i download music so sue me. I am a student..i cant afford buying every single release i get interested in. lol ) anywyas.. back to anna.. so I browsed her official site and saw this lovely picture of hers which I just cant stop looking at for some reason :

there's something about her hair and the way she's looking down that grabbed me and so I thought of giving her a try and downloaded her album. I was very pleased with it cause the sort of music she sings is just what I look for in music.. a good powerful voice with not much yelling going on , great instruments great musical arrangement.. the whole package , plus as the website says she's influenced by Tori amos , jewel and alanis whom I also really love. I hope she does well with her first release in the states though i kinda think the pop music market is too dead.. which is just a shame.

-----------

Rob Thomas :

The solo debut from matchbox 20 lead singer. Still not released yet but of course I got it weeks b4 its release thanks to the most amazing creation ever..the Internet. I love matchbox 20 so I was looking forward to hearing what he has to offer , especially with his amazing voice. I loved most of the album especially the song 'Ever the same' which is supposed to be his second single , and the lovely 'When the heartache ends'. I have no doubts that this album is going to do well for him and probably he'll end up winning some grammies as well...its just the sort of thing that appeals to america.

-----------

Melanie C :

I didn't like this third release of hers that much when i first listened to it , and I probably still dont like it , so god knows why I keep on going back to it. I'll have to admit that there are some good songs on it like 'Here and Now' and 'Little peice of me' which I keep playing over and over , but I mostly think the reason I keep going back is cause I read that she payed from her own money to form a record label and publish this album of hers , so bascially if this album flops she'll just end up loosing her own money. I think thats such a huge risk but I admired her alot more after reading that and just felt obligated to give her a chance. It surely is better than her awful last release 'reason' , but sadly no where the brilliant 'Northern star'. I still hope this does well for her.

-----------

Omarion :

I've been obsessed with this album ever since its release , well actually ever since i heard the first single 'O' which is one of the best RnB songs I heard in a while. I am not a huge RnB or hip/hop music fan so liking this came as a surprise to me. Maybe its his voice that I like more ( kinda sounds like he's singing from his nose thought sometimes! ) but still very good. My faves songs off his debut album are the very sexy 'O' and the laid back 'I'm Tryna'. I'm kinda shocked though that this isnt doing as well as its supposed to do In the U.S , which just brings me to the conclusion that americans just dont have taste anymore.

Rob looks different in that cover, I'm used to him with longer hair. If the song is anything like Matchbox's stuff then I'd probably like it..

Hey Nabs, why not add smilies to your blog?

hey sam..

well i wont say that rob's music sounds like the stuff he did with matchbox 20 , but its not very different either. I guess somewhere in between..but still very good.

I was thinking about smilies for my blog actually..so yeah.. I might do that. thanks. :)
